(By José Louro in Lisbon, Portugal). Went to renew my passport, here in Lisbon, for my trip to Chicago (i was invited for instructor at the 8 Symposium). Spend same time to draw the little things, instead of the big picture.
For a portuguese who never been at the USA, that are many things that we think we know about the country, despite the fact that many references are, here in Europe, manipulated by the media. But we know, for certainly, that is the birthplace of Edward Hooper and Robert Weaver, and the adopted country of Mies (and Chicago his town). Currently i am reading Bruce Springsteen autobiography so i can't wait to check it out, if its true what i think i know about the country.
PS- One thing i didn't knew, is the meaning of the famous phrase "toddling town" (from Fred Fisher song) and it took me a while in the net to discover his correct meaning.
