Billed as “a one-of-a-kind espresso bar with 1950s flair", Cup of Joe is on the corner of Main Street and First at the north end of our downtown, called the Parkade. I know this is hard to image by all you big city folks, but Cup of Joe is the only coffee shop in town. Sure you can sit down for a cup of coffee at other establishments—like McDonalds or Panera or Village Inn, but those are all franchised restaurant chains.

At Cup of Joe, you can take up residence for an hour or two at a Formica table, a vintage-clothed mannequin keeping watch, while you get stuff done on your laptop.
You can have an important conversation with a friend while nursing a mocha, a double-shot, or a pot of green tea. Just don't expect privacy, the place is tight and narrow.
It opened in 1995. It’s been a beloved gathering place for young and old, families and singles, hip and not-so-hip (me!), since.
