I was lucky to be in Manchester for the 7th Urban Sketchers Symposium in July to teach a workshop. I had a lot of work but sometimes I could still sketch...
I was at the demonstration of Daniel Green “Reflecting on water” near the Bridgewater Canal. For me, it was very interesting to paint him and his work while he was painting the buildings and the bridge reflected on water.
On the left, you should recognize Lapin with his incredible flowery shirt; this time he didn’t draw but he was watching Lolo's Sketchbook in the Sinclairs Oyster Bar.
In the Museum of Sciences and Industry, Gérard Michel was drawing an old car but he couldn't finish because the museum was closing in ten minutes... So I had just ten minutes to paint him !

On the right, the amazing Ch'ng Kiah Kiean was sketching with dry twig and Chinese ink in the All Saints Park. He was very concentrated on his subject and on how to express the place before him. I was very impressed by the speed and the precision of his gestures !
