Small Press Day and Leicester Square

[by Dan Peterson, Cardiff, UK]

Last weekend saw the first Small Press Day across the UK. I went to London to sign some work I’ve just had published in an independent anthology of comic strips, graphic reportage and illustrated stories, called Save Our Souls magazine.

While I was there I managed to draw a picture of the building which housed the comic book shop, GOSH Comics, in Soho, where the signing was taking place.

After the event I had a few hours to kill so made my way to Leicester Square to soak up the Saturday evening atmosphere of London’s West End. I made some quick sketches while there of portrait artists drawing portraits and a busker – Nick Howe, who managed to get a huge crowd of people singing and dancing while he performed.
