[ By Mike Daikubara in Walpole, MA] Quite near my house is this cute little shop called Fancy That that also offers afternoon tea. It's quite a hidden gem since it's located in a fairly residential area and is not the easiest place to find. Since accidentally finding this place a few years ago by driving by, it's become my wife's favorite afternoon tea to take her friends out to - and I also get to occasionally join too :)
One thing I've gotten real good at doing over the years is to sketch fast - especially food. In this situation I'm holding up my wife and our friend Aya-chan that are wanting to eat the delicious tea sandwiches and scones right in front of them. I sketched faster than my usual fast sketching :)
I quickly drew the tea cup in front of me to set the overall scale of the page, then jumped right into drawing the 3 stacks of plates with food, all in about 5+ minutes. Then we all started enjoying our food while I continue to slowly fill up the page with details and other items in the room while sipping my earl grey tea and munching on the food.
Since the two patiently waited for me, now it was my turn to take lots of photos of them!
