Often a complex and busy scene can get us very excited. There is so much to see and draw. We just want to quickly capture everything and put them down on paper. This is also where our fear and struggle start to arise.
Hence, I find it most helpful to always have a few important thinking tools to overcome these moments of uncertainty and help reduce panic. Creating a clear and directed approach to our thinking and sketching is vital and can keep our sketching experience fresh and playful.
This workshop uses a shape drawing approach to strengthen our observation, help us establish ways to simplify our thinking and drawing process on-location. I will include simple techniques I use to attack and deal with complex complicated scenes. The workshop will demonstrate the Addition, Subtraction, Division and Multiplication method to achieve dynamic shape driven compositions.
