I captured this scenery of construction field walking down emergency stair from 10th floor of Jongno Tower. This scene was caught at the stair between 8th and 7th floor. The staircase was not cold compared to the outside. The long iron beams laid orderly caught my eyes though I didn't know to which part of the building to be built. They may support inside the new building (it's said that the building will be a hotel). From time to time I visit the same place to see the iron structure to go higher day by day and may sketch the feature them.
Coming down to 5th floor I could see the above scene. I drew the right side of the construction area. The bottom part is the ramp of Jongno Tower parking lot. The dynamic lines of pumping cars and other vertical equipment are my favorite subjects. pen, pastels, A 4
I walked down from 5th for better view of the pagoda. It locates in the back yard of the Jongno Tower. The pagoda - 'Present of a century (2000)' is a work of artist Choi Jeong Hwa. The motive is said to be borrowed from the Wongagsa Pagoda which locates nearby in Tapgol park. pen, pastels, A 4

I often go to Jongno street which has been the center of Seoul for a long time. Though the scenery keeps changing every day by reconstruction or remodeling, the streets do not change as same as our ancestors had passed. Buildings go higher and higher in new trends. We, sketchers, just capture the newly formed features of city enjoying them. Going up and up we may see more at one sight.
