by Byung Hwa Yoo, Jongno district office, Seoul, Korea
Two sketches above are the outside of the Jongno district office which was the site of Susong elementary school. The basic structure is as same as before. I attended the school when I was a child. I live in the Jongno district so I go there often. The playground is changed into a parking lot for visitors.
I went up to fourth floor and saw this scene. It rained early in the morning and the office workers laid their umbrellas to be dried.
In the civil service hall I could see lots of pumpkins and white gourd carried from Suncheon city located at southern part of Korea.
In main entrance hall pumpkins and other fruits are laid. At first I tried to sketch this one the hall with back door wide open was too cold to begin. I was surprised to see the big and long white gourd.
There is a Sambong library inside the office where I drop in often. Young students seemed to be tired with study or preparation for getting jobs.
