1 week in Singapore :: 1 week in Bangkok :: 1 week in Jakarta :: 4 weeks in Dili, East-Timor

I know a lot of people who likes to glue tickets and other stuff in the sketchbook, but I always choose to sketch them instead of gluing.

When I travel, I like to sketch a map of where I’m going based on the airplane magazine. That help me to anticipate the arrival and I start dreaming about other places where I would like to visit and sketch…

Wat Trimitr temple is located in the craziest and chaotic part of Bangkok. Inside the temple they have the biggest solid gold Buddha. I walked around to find my spot and start sketching, then, Veronica Lawlor appeared. She drew the kids playing at the school, but I focused on the temple…

Before I left to lunch, I asked the monk if I could sketch him, but he didn’t understood me, so I started anyway. At the end I showed him the drawing and he laughed! 🙂

I stayed, at least, 10 minutes looking without drawing anything.

“How is that possible? All of it in solid gold??? Amazing…”

I don’t think I was concentrate enough to sketch this one. I was gaped…

Then we ended the morning with the best street food of Bangkok. Amazing cook. His kitchen was the back of his van and he was fast with the pans!
