Hi everyone! Here's a lowdown from Day 1 of the 6th International Urban Sketchers Symposium from sunny Singapore! We had an instructors and staff meeting at the National Design Centre. The symposium committee took the floor and we found out that we were all sitting at the baskbetall court of a former mission school! Now it's a sketcher's playground.
Everyone's busy listening and sketching. And listening and getting the wifi to work!
Registration opened at 2:30pm, welcoming the early participants from different parts of the global sketching community! This year is the 6th International Urban Sketchers Symposium and its happening in Singapore. More than 300 registrants and it's still open for late check ins!
Behind the registration counter all the goodie bags are waiting to be handed out!
Our dedicated team keeping tabs with the goodies from our sponsors!
Those are sketchbooks from Leuchtturm1917!
One of our local USk Singapore sketcher entertained us with live singing with his ukulele as registration continued and the seats were starting to fill up!
The afternoon sketchwalk at Purvis Street. People lined up between the pillars to sketch the shophouses across.
Some perks for sketching. The restaurant behind us gave us refreshing cold organic tea.
Thank you Yhingthai Palace.
Switching to a rainbow pencil. More shophouses and sketchers having fun sketching together. Those are Amber and Shawne from the US and Lise from France.
It was a great time to meet inspiring people whom I read about or interact with online but never met in person. That's a big thrill to see them all in the city where I live! it's also a time to meet new friends and be inspired by what they see and sketch! More tomorrow!
