By Inma Serrano in Lisbon, Portugal.
Last weekend I was very lucky to be invited to Lisbon by Vieira da Silva house museum to teach a workshop about Sketching organized by Eduardo Salavisa.
I had not visited Lisbon from the Symposium and I come back home with the impression that the city still has that old character of the endless places.
As I have tell you, I was invited by a museum dedicated to Helena Vieira da Silva. She was a Portuguese artist. I didn´t know her, so before returning to Spain I seek her work and I could find several 1974 festival posters with a written slogan: "A POESIA ESTA NA RUA" (THE POETRY IS IN THE STREET)... And really I think in Lisbon this is still true.

It was great to meet and draw with lot of Portuguese friends during the workshop and in the Sketchcrawl too, that Nelson organized to draw Urban Rehabilitation.
Lisbon is still keeping small treasures around every corner. I didn´t want to stop walking unless I felt the pain in my feet. I needed to explore every street, every square, every place.
Even if I have been there more times, Lisbon still seems a new place for me.
As I was walking I discover the connections between the different places. I do the idea of where each location is.
I sketched again in Luis Camoes Square. Between Chiado and Barrio Alto. I remember when I met for the first time Nina Johanson in person. It was at the symposium. And it was just in this square. I knew her by her great work much earlier and I stopped to see her sketching. It was a magical moment for me.
Early in the morning I was drawing from San Pedro de Alcantara viewpoint or Do Carmo Museum. A real privilege.
