New cafes are sprouting up everywhere and at lightning speed here in Singapore. We are crazy about our coffee and food. I found out about the new Tian Kee & Company cafe recently and decided to pay them a visit. This used to be an old grocery store serving the Dakota Crescent neighbourhood. We call them provision shops and you can find all sorts of sundries in the shop. Unfortunately the owner is very old now and decided to close the shop for good. Then a young couple came along, bought the shop and started their very own cafe. Glad they kept some of the old shop to preserve a piece of old Singapore. Bad news is this old estate has two more years before redevelopment happens. The cafe has to go too.
Just in case you are wondering, I don't eat cakes and drink coffee all the time but I do love to visit sketchable cafes that also make good coffee.
