Yes, here is another installment of sketches I did at the Ireby Music Festival. I got so into it, I did loads. The more the music gets me going , the more I feel I have to draw.
Although I did some sketches in fountain pen, I increasingly reverted to my watercolour pencils. The mark-making can be as expressive as you like, so they really suited the live performance.
For anyone trying them out for the first time, I wrote a hot tips post a while ago, with some guidelines and ways to experiment.
The key things for me are very few colours - usually just 3 pencils at a time - and not putting on the water until the very end, very quickly and minimally, so as not to wipe away the mark-making.
