Coming May 6th is the Buddha's Birthday (BE Year 2558). All temples hang colorful lanterns in and out. Colorful lanterns are for living people and white lanterns are for the dead ones wishing their eternal peace. They're hung in different area, which seems as same as in this world. Yesterday I sketched one at the Jogyesa, center of the Korean Buddhist Jogye Order. Because the temple locates in downtown near Jongno street lots of citizens, believers, or visitors gather to see the lanterns. I could hear the lecture of ex-chief executive monk while sketching. He said "Without your being nothing is there."
