On the recommendation of USk's own Tia Boon Sim, your humble correspondent was invited to be an Overseas External Examiner at Temasek Polytechnic School of Design in Singapore. This is an outstanding program, blending architecture, landscape architecture and urban design to address complex cross-disciplinary urban issues. I was tremendously impressed with the school, the dedicated faculty and the talented and energetic students. The work days were long, but I did manage to get into the city for sketching after arriving on my first day. Later in the week Tia, Paul Wang and Carolyn Lim took me on a wonderful whirlwind tour through the city. Singapore lived up to all my expectations and now feels like home to me; I'm looking forward to a return visit!
