Portland, OR: This past weekend I left Davis for a few days and went back up to Portland, in search of food, beer, books, comics, excellent people, and of course rain. Didn't take much searching! Above, the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, sketched while sheltering from the rain downtown. Below, PDX sketchers Vicky, Kalina and Andrea, sketched while eating a post-sketchcrawl lunch in Goose Hollow. I could only make the lunch as I needed a lie-in. I love the urban sketching community up there (though I missed Laura Frankstone's visit by a week!), they are an inspiration.
And of course, Portland's food carts. I ate fish and chips from the Frying Scotsman (along with a $3.50 bottle of Irn-Bru), but when I came back on the Sunday it was closed so I sketched these ones on SW Alder (I added the colour when I got home).
