I had a little bit of work to accomplish there too, but in the middle of that, and enjoying family time, I also managed to do a few drawings just for fun - some of which I'm posting here.
A little watercolor and ink goes well with tartufo and family conversation at the Piazza Navona...
The apartment we rented was very close to the Colosseum, which seemed like good enough reason to draw it! It truly is colossal, and I had a hard time fitting the whole structure on my page. It's amazing to me how the Romans live and work amongst such relics. They seem immune to them, maybe they're just used to living with the past. For an American like me, it's truly an amazing experience every time I go.
Patty is still fighting the fight - any prayers, good vibes or well wishes you can send her way are much appreciated! It was so nice to get away and spend time together just enjoying a beautiful city.
