On my way home from school today I made a little detour through Lachine so I could do some sketching. I'm embarrassed to say that I was getting a bit fed up with the warm October weather we've been having, and the endless blue skies. The grey clouds were a relief, although in a few weeks I know I'll regret saying this.
The architecture along the canal in Lachine is varied and in places a bit run down, and even though this is not part of the downtown core it has enough old buildings to make me feel that I'm right in the city. They rooflines have all these weird little details that are fun to draw, like this antique shop on the corner of 9th Avenue and St. Joseph.
