Stockholm is full of water, and every quay is lined with boats - big and small, old and new. I love the old wooden boats best, and I love the enthusiasts who lay down so much of their time to keep these fantastic boats alive too.
Pålsundskanalen (the Pålsund canal) is where you find a lot of these mahogany beauties, along with the bigger boats and ferries waiting for service at Mälarvarvet (Mälaren shipyard). This canal always seems so calm, although it is full of activity. People are polishing, mending, scraping and painting their boats, while other boats pass through the canal - slowly, to avoid whipping up waves.
