"I think Barcelona is one of the best cities in the world for drawing on the street. The climate and the architectural richness it contains help a lot. Therefore, I think that limit my work as illustrator to draw indoor is a crime.
Thank to some professors at university I discovered the taste for sketching. But it was in recent years, coinciding with the discovery of all these people who shared their images on the blog, when I intensified my love for sketching. Now it is me as a teacher, who tries to express a taste for going outside and enjoy drawing.
I'm working as an illustrator in Barcelona since 2001. I started in advertising and Scenography for operas. I'm doing graphic novels, and I've published some books. And I worked in a pair of movies. A lot of this jobs I got thanks to my sketchbooks.
I started filling sketchbooks about seven years ago, when I realized that, when traveling, drawings were much more valuable than photographs. For a time I only drew in my travels, but since I met the local sketchers, I started to draw the city often.
Imagine that one day you are going to a meeting of sketchers, not knowing what or whom you'll meet, and you are in a street, drawing with Lapin, Swasky, Eclecticbox or Jenny Adam ... Then you either flee or get hooked forever.
A few years later, I think that I should have fled."
