39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl Los Angeles

39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl...P.F. Chang's HorsesAs always, my fellow Urban Sketchers correspondent Shiho Nakaza organized a great LA Sketchcrawl day.  As you see from her post below, we met this time at the Downtown Burbank Arts Festival which this year featured the Creative Talent Network, a group of fantastic animation artists, since many of our LA group are in the animation world.  I admit I did more chatting and perusing of art and books than actual sketching.  I've always loved the stone horses that guard the entrance to the P.F. Chang's China Bistro, so did a few thumbnail studies...

39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl...Burbank Jazz Band

A great jazz band of local musicians plays in front of a shopping center...

39th Worldwide Sketchcrawl...Cowboy John

...and a great character model, John Tucker is here so artists can sketch him in costume...he just happens to be sitting in front of the "Bank of the West"...

You captured the mood of the festival so well with just the greys! And I didn't catch the "Bank of the West
- that's pretty clever!
