Robin Hood's Bay is one of my favourite places, clamped tight onto the east coast of northern England. It is where John and I had our first weekend away together, so we went back there to get engaged and stayed at the same hotel.
Because it felt special, we made it the first stop of our honeymoon too. Which was, incredibly, 20 years ago this summer - wow, I'm suddenly feeling old.

We still go back lots. Out of season is best, when the sea can be wild, although last weekend it was very still, so warm enough for me to sit outside a cafe and do this drawing. Still cold enough for woolly hats though!

Great post...I notice that you use every page, even the inside of your sketchbooks. Stands to reason given the volume of sketches you produce!
