Peterborough Cathedral

Peterborough is a city about 75 miles north of London, and one of the places I visited when I toured around England in a small Fiat dormobile in 1990 with just a bunch of pencils and sketchbooks for company. I'd pitch up in a town, work out what I was going to draw, spend the next 24 or 48 hours drawing them, and then head on to the next place. Things were less complicated then.
Peterborough's fantastic medieval cathedral is the kind of building you know you have to draw if you're in town for a short time, and it's quite strange for me to look back on this drawing, especially as I hardly ever use a pencil to draw with now. Although the building is 12th century, it strikes me as very modern, and I remember finding it quite literally breathtaking standing next to it to draw. It would be interesting to know how many modern buildings will still be standing in about 800 years' time.
