Love this. His expression, and the detail packed into the double page spread. Like a snippet of a graphic novel.
Terrific Lynn!
Wonderful to see your drawing 'in situ'. As usual, excellent capture of your fellow travelers.
Brilliant drawing / fascinating photo. The 3d guy looks a little less angry than the 2d i think.
I got told off for doing a similar photo the next day. Interestingly, not by the person I was drawing / photographing, but by a complete stranger. She said I should ask the man's permission if I was posting his photo on the net (perhaps a good point?). Then she said I should delete the photo I had taken from my phone (slight over-reaction?). Then the woman opposite her (another random stranger) said I should not be drawing people at all. I so rarely get a negative reaction like this (just 3 times in all the years) and get so many positive reactions, I am comfortable about the drawing people part (and asking permission to draw people would destroy it - the attention I would draw to myself would make it impossible). Interestingly, most sketchers who post sketchbook photos with the subject are drawing mainly buildings. I don't think it's such a good idea on reflection, so won't take photos again, even though the faces are often too out of focus to really be recognisable.
