Steel Some Drawing Knowledge
With the new book, An Illustrative Journey, hitting the shelves, Danny Gregory has made a series of interviews with each of the participants. The first one is Liz Steel. I must warn you they are quite long or should I say, they are quite in depth. Each are about a half hour. So if you love to listen to artists drone on, then this is for you. Or you could always watch 10 minutes or so to hear what these artists have to say about their materials, influences and techniques. You may get hooked and end up watching the entire thing anyway. The Urban Sketchers blog is mentioned quite a bit as it has become quite influential in the world of artists doing this drawing in sketchbooks thing. The symposiums and sketchcrawls are discussed too. Plus you get the see the artists filmed with their computer lens which makes each artist face look all distorted and in bad lighting too, I might add. It's fun for the whole family.

Well, that was fun and illuminating. It was terrific to see Danny Gregory, who started so many people on daily sketching, interview Liz Steel, who had so many insights to share. Thanks for posting this.
Liz, This was so fun to watch! Congratulations on the new book! -- Polly
