This is how my neighborhood looked like one night - I decided to park my car and sketch what I saw out of my window since it was too cold and dark to paint with watercolors. I remembered I had Brushes app on my iPhone, so I used that to experiment.
I've had this app on my iPhone for a while, but this is the first time I'm halfway satisfied with it for sketching. I played with some drawing apps on iPad, too, but it seems my lines don't show up on the screen as fast as I can swipe. Capacitive technology used for touch screen is not as fluid as I like compared to pressure-sensitive screen like on a Wacom tablet.
Do you have any tips on iPhone/iPad sketching?

Check out work by David Hockney. His iPad stuff is amazing. Just saw a retrospective exhibition in Koln (Cologne), Germany with huge panels of landscapes printed from iPad art. If you google Hockney and/ or "the big picture", it should get you to his art work.

My Sensu capacitive brush plus rubber tipped stylus just arrived. I love the way the brush glides across the surface of the iPad. It's pricey at $40, but it feels more natural than a rubber tipped stylus such as Bamboo, etc. There is no drag on the glass which I could not get used to with the rubber tipped stylus for sketching.

Pat, thank you for letting me know that David Hockney paints with iPads. Carmela, I heard great things about Sensu brush, so I'll see if I can try it out. We shall see!
