snow sketching

Coeur d' Alene, ID Mike Sending New Year's greetings from snowy Idaho this year. The video shows a little sketch done while snowshoeing in the snowy hills of northern Idaho on New Year's day. The other two sketches were quickie sketches from a couple days before. The log house shown in the video was something I helped build with my step-father back in 1983. They lived in the house until just a few years ago, and was a great place to celebrate the first day of 2013. By the way, don't worry about the "no trespassing" sign in the video. It marks a trail into my mother's property behind the house.

Beautiful video, thanks for sharing! And no gloves while sketching???? I'm freezing just watching--of course I do live in Southern Arizona :).

That video was awesome. I'm from Spokane, I was really stoked when I saw Post Falls!

It was cold, but I was shedding layers after snowshoeing. The sketch lasted only about 10 or 15 minutes, so the layers went back on pretty quickly. We miss Spokane already- enjoyed seeing my little niece and nephew who live there.

Lovely footage, wonderful sketch and story--what an intrepid sketcher! (fortunate you were finishing when the watercolors froze!)

I like that word- intrepid. I wish I was a bit more intrepid. :)
