Well here it is... all my sketches from my 2 week trip to Singapore (I filled 2.3 A4 watercolour moleskines...but it is great to put them all together in one book)
As you can see I had a ball in Singapore... warning, don't look at this sketchbook on an empty stomach! I loved the colour and the variety of subjects within a compact area and of course the USK Singapore group is awesome, Tia, Paul, DOn and everyone else. A huge thankyou for making me feel so incredibly welcome and I was truly overwhelmed by your generosity. I can't forget to mention that the food is great!!! (food and eating is a national past time in SG and I can confirm that that is indeed the case!)
I did intend to post highlights here as I was going along with the huge scanning job... but maybe in the coming weeks I might post a few individual sketches with some thoughts about why they are significant to me. I had a real breakthrough during this trip - largely due to Paul sharing some of his tips and techniques with me (thanks!) but the whole USK SG groupwas a total inspiration!
You might be able to see the change as you flick through the pages. I started the trip doing the 'same old thing' and finished it - splashing and scraping paint, using pencil or a hero pen and working a lot wetter with my watercolour. I am really excited to see what comes next.....

As usual ...here is the fortnight of sketching in a single image.

One again, absolutely stunning Liz!
So much content and depth, I don't even know where to start commenting!
One thing is that I immediately clicked to view your Issuu booklet on an empty stomach and I'm hurting..
Singapore was at the top of my list in the places I want to visit but you're sketches made me want to go even more!
thanks Mike! It is a very very sketchable place to go...I was blown away.
Thnaks for sharing. Gorgeous!
Liz, what a great pleasure to see your trip this way...I've always been so impressed by the way your traveling book begins with planning the trip, and brings us along with all the richness of what you experience and feel. Nothing wrong with your 'same old thing', but fun to see you experiment too. Would love to see this published as a book!
Wow, Liz, you got super busy in Singapore! Love viewing all the eclectic architectural styles in one book like this. I agree with Virginia too, would be great to see it as a published book.
