Winter Sketching

I love to draw snow landscapes in watercolor. There is so much white!  However it is difficult to find a warm and cozy place with a nice view, where you can draw. Today I found one! Miriam Benmousa,  USk Germany correspondent from Munich, was passing through Berlin and we decided to meet for a coffee and sketch. A friend of mine had told me about this Cafe and I decided to try it. I have to confess that I was going for the reputation of the food, but it turn out to have a wonderful big window to the street. In front of the cafe there  is this vintage movie theater, that I like, because if one of the places in Berlin where you can watch movies in the original language.
Babylon Kino, Dresdener Strasse - Berlin
I left the white of the paper as snow, but carefully since white is never 100% white, there are many subtle shades of grey, that are important to make the white shine. With a dry flat old brush I painted the car tracks. And when I arrived home I added some gouache white for the snow flakes.
