A sure sign of the approaching season...the bell-ringers are out. This man was in front of our grocery store, and since I had my folding stool with me, I decided to sketch in the sunshine while my husband finished shopping. We had a nice chat!
As I watched, a young boy put his coins into the bucket and this fellow let him ring the bell...fun to watch. (I'll bet he was glad of our 60-degree weather, sometimes it's brutal out there, but the bell-ringers are out, fair weather or foul. )

Great sketch Cathy. Enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Thanks, Shari! Is yours the same time?
Even more than the holiday lights and yard decorations and carols, I love the Salvation Army bell ringing as THE symbol and soundtrack for the season. You've shown and spoken it here, Cathy!
Great post! love that light in the first sketch, wow!
Thanks, Marcia and TIA, the light was what attracted me to that...quite a challenge!
This is perfect, Cathy, so great to see!
Thanks, Virginia! I like seeing them, and I was glad I had some money with me...I usually don't!
