coffee in Castro Valley

Castro Valley, CA I don't drink coffee at night, but my wife and I had an hour to kill in Castro Valley last night, so we hung out at the coffee shop. She was checking on holiday flights and I was trying to sketch folks around me. There was this very large table in the middle of the place, where people seemed to be involved in a very wide range of conversations- math, philosophy, faith, internet gaming, and small business. I never really dropped in under any particular eaves, but I'm sure it would have been interesting if I had.

Well caught, Rob.

Looks fantastic... do any of them ever glance over your shoulder and try to talk to you as your sketching? I may be the minority here, but it's a little nerve wracking (pressure) when people try to watch me drawing.

I worked myself over to a corner for these sketches. The guy with the ponytail had a suspicion, I think, but he was pretty engaged in conversation to care too much. The other folks below I sketched from about 30 feet away.
