this afternoon on berlin teufelsberg, on the dirt path along the fence around old radar station.
the complex is rotting since years. (inbetween a sect bought it and its prominet memeber david lynch digged some corner stone for their berlin headquarter, but than they kind of vanished in the same nirwana they emerged from...)
wikipedia points out, that 'offically' there is no access to the complex, and indeed all the holes in the fence are patched, but anyway i hear voices and a regular click clack from shaken aerosol cans from inside.

love the drawing and finding about the rubble pile
thanks, isabel!
i read this informations about the rubble of bombed houses creating that hill and the postwar situation in berlin in general again and again, but as even a 'post-wall-berliner' (coming here in 2000) i cannot really fill these facts with 'blood' (which mainly means images as me 'visual person'). kind of absurde places, as this 'fairy tail forest with giant mushrooms' do not help in undersanding, but keep the mind open to the fact, that there is something relevant behind.
What a wonderful drawing! I love all the movement in the lines--the branches, the top of the fence, and the broken wires. It's really fun to look at this.
You're showing us some really intriguing Berlin architecture in your recent posts.
Your drawings seem to flow off your hand like notes out of Luis Armstrong's trumpet - sweet and superlative!
thanks a lot, vicky, murray and matthew!

What an elegant drawing of a fascinating place...wonderful lines!
The depth and contrasts in this drawing are great - and it's an interesting story behind it too.
