I took ceramics in this little building back in 3rd grade, and fondly remember those evenings mucking about with clay...I even still have one of the bizarre little pots I made.
We drove over to Independence so I could sketch some of the old neighborhood before it's gone...this one's for sale and had lookers while we were there! More on my trip down memory lane in this post on Urban Sketchers Midwest.

how great...making something lovely from something superficially unlovely.
Absolutely wonderful use of red for the warms in the trees. Great wet on wet usage for it and I love the hard edge left by the dry green. Then the contrast by the lighter building great composition
