Santo Domingo Sketches: Buildings

Here are some sketches that came out of workshops I took at Urban Sketching Symposium in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I signed up to specific workshops to conquer my weak spots: sketching buildings and using colors effectively. I got a lot of practice with both!

For those of you who want to read the notes on sketching techniques that I learned, you can head over to the posts on workshops: buildings and workshops: color at the Symposium site.

Beautiful sketches Shiho. I particularly like the composition of the bottom panorama.

Nice work Shiho! Like Murray, I'm particularly taken with the panorama on the bottom--the colors, composition and shadows work together beautifully.

Thanks, Murray and James.
I actually don't like how the panorama turned out (wish I left more space at the top for the sky, and I am frustrated with how paints react on Moleskine watercolor sketchbook) - glad you like them, though!
