As an art professor, I’m expected to have something critical to say to all of my students, all of the time. But occasionally, I’m struck speechless.
Last Summer, my course in Italy had an unprecedented number of excellent young talents enrolled. But, I’d be remiss if I didn’t publish for a wider audience, some of the work of Liz Wikstrom. Remember the name. Liz is currently a senior at Rhode Island School of Design and she reminds me that art teachers should honor the Hippocratic Oath, as doctors do. We should vow to: “Do no harm” by telling to students like Liz, “Keep doing what you’re doing!” She’s an Urban Sketcher of the highest order.
