Unusual roofscapes

Málaga, roofscape

Beauty is sometimes hidden in unusual places. But if you look for it, will definitely come up where you would not expect it to be.
City roofs are a perfect setting for these findings. Of course I do not mean I climbed up to a roof to draw the sketches, it is just the advantages of living in a city with sloped hills.

Málaga is a place with beautiful corners, but it is not a "postcard city". Frequently the old and the new are mixed in disorder, and it is this kind of chaos that makes it irresistible to my eyes.

Drawing those sketches also made me think about the kind of people our ancestors were, seeking perfection when designing elements that would be hardly appreciated by the eye of people walking at street level. I expressed some thoughts about that issue here and here (in Spanish and English)

i supposed beauty is also in the eyes of the beholder, in this case, also in the eyes of a sketcher:-) beautiful observation, Luis.
was it possible that buildings in old days are not as cramp as today and the entire building is appreciated from head to toes?

Your writing is insightful and your drawings are exciting. It's late at night and raining here but you make me want to go out with my sketchbook and drawing board and draw my own street. Great work, Luis!

Thank you everyone... when I draw old bricks and stones, I cannot avoid thinking in the people that built and inhabited them.

@ Asnee: That is exactly what I thought while sketching...

@ AVBK: Inspiring words, thank you!

@Melanie: Glad you liked it, I hope I'll see you here again sometime!

@ Shari: But you couldn't draw your beautiful snow sketches here... too warm!
