Jury Duty

Last week I reported to my first day of jury duty in Newark, New Jersey. I was curious as to exactly what was about to happen during my time there, and unfortunately, absolutely nothing happened. My name was never called and I never saw a lawyer, judge, nothing. BUT I did a few drawings of the other pseudo-jurors, a sleeping priest, and the parking lot during lunch. It was good practice and a couple days off of the normal routine.

That does sound like a boring couple of days, but I like the sketch results! Fantastic building at the bottom, the partially drawn cars create a sort of short depth-of-field effect drawing the eye to the house itself.

I'm a big fan, Greg...saying so much with just the absolutely necessary. Kind of like Muddy Waters' guitar playing: other guys could play 10 notes to his one, but he played exactly the right one. Beautiful work.
