1. We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.
2. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel.
3. Our drawings are a record of time and place.
4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness.
5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.
6. We support each other and draw together.
7. We share our drawings online.
8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.
The Urban Sketchers logo was created by Italian graphic designer Franco Lancio.

wow, it really does seem like a walk down a neighborhood street with you, Virginia. I love how you captured the everyday beauty of this place.
I love your very sharp and, at the same time, very blured drawings! They really take us everywhere you went, leaving some to the imagination to feel the weather, hear the quiet cars and the tree branches shaking...really inspiring!
Great sketches.
Wonderful, Virginia- this series continues to get richer and richer!
This set really gives me sense of the experience. nice work.
Very nice! It couldn't be more 'urban'...
These images seem so alive with color and people.
I love these - you get great rhythm into your work.
Great sketches, they're so lively!
I really enjoy the little details you capture in your work; the road signs, billboards, light fittings, window displays etc that reveal themselves with a closer look.
Suhita, DirEn Rafael, Matthew, Memi, John, Bajzek, C, Jerry, Minerva and Murray, I really appreciate your comments, thanks!
I like how you include roads and highways in your pieces. It's tempting to crop out the 'ugly bits' but today's society is (sadly?) built around arterial paving and your work is quite accurately descriptive as a result. It describes the flavour of Southern California.
