Cottbus Elevations

Tomorrow, I'll be moving to Munich. I made a parting-two-hour-walk through the city and discovered again ambivalent and remarkable buildings. I decided to draw classic architectural elevations.

From top left:
- a sports hall from prussian times when red bricks were dominating the architecture of this region (Lusatia)
- a fine detailed art nouveau residential house, close to the famous theatre
- a modernism residential house, quite unusual to find these in a perimeter block development
- an expressionistic school from 1930, very well proportionated and in a good condition
- a small business building in the city centre form the DDR times
- and finally the known library by Herzog & de Meuron where I used to go regularly

Awesome architecture! These wonderful drawings will be a source of inspiration to you in a new city...and also serve as a lovely remembrance of the past. Looking forward to getting to know Munich through your new sketches.

Elegantly beautiful drawings as always--and I too look forward to your drawings of Munich!

Beautiful sketches, they look somewhat old fashioned with the brownish paper - great impression. Have a good start in "München", Flo!
