Urban Sketchers 2011 Holiday Campaign: Give a Little, Get a Sketch

Nov. 1st, marks the 3rd anniversary of this blog – happy birthday to you Urban Sketchers! The blog has surely inspired a bunch of people to get drawing their cities, you perhaps! It also inspired its correspondents to create the Urban Sketchers nonprofit with the mission of fostering the art of on location drawing and showing the world, one drawing at a time.

Our nonprofit has put together two international symposiums so far, in Portland and Lisbon, and we want to keep going, but we need your help. With this campaign, we want you to help us raise money for educational programs planned for the coming year.

Here’s how it works:

To make a donation go click the Paypal Donate button on the sidebar.

In return for donation, we’ll send you a high resolution file you can print and frame at home. Or, if you don’t have a printer, you can take the file to your local photography store.

You may select any one of the sketches collected in this flickr set:

If you choose to make a generous donation of $20 or more, you may chose a second sketch.

For every higher increment of $20 you may chose yet another sketch. So if you were to donate $60 you could select FOUR sketches total. A perfect way to do your holiday gift shopping!

Donors of $75 dollars or more are eligible for a special thanks. You may select one image from a set of special prints offered by volunteer correspondents. (Selected from this flickr set). Your artist of choice will make you a print in their home studios, and mail it directly to you, wherever you are in the world.

Of course we accept donations all year round – but the 2011 Give a Little offer ends December 31.

After your donation appears in our PayPal, one of us will get back to (via your PayPal contact email) and arrange the digital delivery of your sketches, or the mailout of you print. It might take a short while, but we are working hard to be prompt 🙂

Thanks for your generous support! We plan to keep bringing you the world, one drawing at at time.

(Also note – We are a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States. All donations in the US are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law).
