“I was born in Madrid in 1954 and I am a graphic designer and illustrator.
I love architecture and sculpture. And I love drawing buildings and the urban environment.
I work in Madrid, a city I find pleasant and interesting. This year, following doctors prescriptions, I’ve decided to put a stop to my stress. I’m taking long walks and rediscovering a city very different from the Madrid I knew, as well as the pleasure of slowing down.
I think drawing is an important way to understand what you see, it makes you change your perception of the world.
I like to draw with a fountain pen, always without any previous pencil sketch. That way you get a stroke with more quality.
My teachers have always been the books that were around my house growing up, especially Rembrandt, Picasso, Matisse, Dufy and Van Loon. I spent hours looking at them and copying the masterpieces.
I’m delighted to join Urban Sketchers, a great initiative.”
